MOViN is a new version of rhythmic pop with an iPod shuffle-style array of music designed to appeal to a generation reared on Top 40 hits that were primarily rhythmic and dance based. The format’s focus is a mix of current rhythmic music and proven hits from the 80’s and 90’s.
MOViN targets Women 25-49, with a blend of adult hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today. Core artists of the station include Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Prince, Outkast, Madonna, Black-Eyed Peas, and Beyonce. KMVQ delivers the 36”ish” female who grew up with rhythmic based music on KMEL and KYLD but has grown tired of the teen vibe and repetition and doesn’t connect with the more mellow and old school blend on KBLX or KISQ.
